Permissions

The Permissions tab showing Memory Mode set to Isolated, and the When to reply in group chats section

The Permissions tab controls two things: how the agent’s memory works across different conversations, and when it chooses to speak up in a group chat.

Controls whether conversations in different groups/channels share the same memory or are kept separate:

  • Isolated (default): each channel or group has its own separate memory, so conversations don’t bleed across groups. What the agent learns talking to one customer doesn’t leak into a conversation with another.
  • Shared: all groups share a single memory. Use this when you want the agent to carry context across every conversation it has instead of starting fresh each time.

For each connected channel, choose how the agent behaves in group conversations specifically. Direct messages always get a reply regardless of this setting.

  • Slack and Microsoft Teams: All messages, @mention only, or Thread replies only (the bot only responds to replies inside an existing thread, not new channel messages).
  • Telegram: All messages or @mention only (the bot only responds when explicitly mentioned with @botusername).
  • Lark: All messages or @mention only.

Only channels you’ve actually enabled on the Channels tab show up here. If none are connected yet, you’ll see a prompt to enable at least one first.

Keeping customers separate vs. staying in context

Section titled “Keeping customers separate vs. staying in context”

A business agent talking to many different customers almost always wants Isolated memory: what one customer told it shouldn’t leak into a stranger’s conversation. A personal assistant is the opposite case, since it’s just you across every channel, so Shared memory lets it remember something you mentioned on Telegram when you follow up over WhatsApp. Group-reply settings follow a similar split: a support agent in a busy team channel usually wants @mention only so it doesn’t talk over people, while a small internal team might prefer All messages if the whole point of the channel is to talk to the agent.
