Glossary
Quick definitions for terms used throughout Minicrew and this documentation. For a narrative introduction to how these pieces fit together, see Core Concepts.
An AI assistant you configure inside Minicrew. It has a persona, a set of skills and tools, one or more channels it listens on, and its own conversation history. Most workspaces run several agents for different jobs: support, sales, internal ops.
Agent Group
Section titled “Agent Group”An optional, dashboard-only way to organize related agents, for example grouping every agent for one client or department. Grouping is purely visual; it doesn’t change how an agent behaves.
See Routine / Alarm.
Channel
Section titled “Channel”A place an agent can send and receive messages — Slack, Microsoft Teams, Telegram, Lark, the Web Embed widget, or the public Messaging API. An agent can connect to more than one at once.
Knowledge Base
Section titled “Knowledge Base”Reference material attached to an agent (FAQs, documents, connected spreadsheets) that it can search and cite when answering questions, rather than relying only on its persona instructions.
Persona
Section titled “Persona”The instructions that define how an agent behaves. Role, tone, rules, background context. Write one from scratch, or start from a template in the guided wizard.
Routine / Alarm
Section titled “Routine / Alarm”A scheduled or condition-based action an agent takes without being asked. Routines run on a cadence, like a daily summary. Alarms fire proactive follow-ups when a condition is met, such as a task going quiet. Both are opt-in per agent.
A packaged capability an agent can use, such as sending calendar invites or searching a knowledge base. Skills are either built into the platform or added by a tenant as an MCP Skill, and may require their own settings or credentials.
MCP Skill
Section titled “MCP Skill”A skill built from a tenant-connected MCP (Model Context Protocol) server. Unlike built-in platform skills, a tenant adds and configures these directly, and they become available to agents as soon as the connection is live.
Tenant / Workspace
Section titled “Tenant / Workspace”Your organization’s isolated account on Minicrew, where all your agents, channels, keys, and billing live. “Workspace” is the dashboard term; “tenant” is what the technical docs call the same thing.
The unit Minicrew meters LLM activity in, roughly a few tokens per word of text an agent reads or writes. Your plan includes a monthly allowance — see the FAQ for how usage and top-ups work.
Token Pack
Section titled “Token Pack”A one-time purchase of extra tokens that stacks on top of your monthly plan allowance and doesn’t expire.
A specific action available to an agent, either inside a skill or as a standalone capability: a “send message” tool, a “run code” tool. Enable or disable each one per agent.
